America, you're beautiful: 5 Last Minute Ideas to Dress Festively Chic on the 4th of July
Posted on 04 July 2017
If you're anything like us, then you've experienced waking up with the thought, "OMG, that's TODAY??" And when that happens, the last thing you want to worry about is how to get dressed while you're scrambling to get out the door. Luckily, today is a holiday, so hopefully the only thing you're scrambling is your eggs, but hey, you still gotta get dressed. So here's 5 last minute ideas to dress festively chic on the 4th of July, in case it happened to sneak up on you.
1. Simple white tank and a skirt
The skirt in this ensemble could be any shade in the red, white and blue category and still work beautifully. Simplicity is the key. A neutral straw bag, and some strappy sandals complete the look.
2. Striped dress and a denim button-up
Honestly, anything paired with some Converse is going to feel pretty all-American; the red stripes and denim are just a bonus. This look would also be great with the denim button-up knotted.
3. White jeans and gingham
When in doubt on the 4th of July, wear gingham. Wear gingham, and then some white jeans, because if there was ever a time for white jeans, it's right now.
4. A dress and a bandana
This ensemble is full out Americana and we love it for that reason. But if you wanted to take a more subtle approach, the bandana choker would be a great festive touch paired with any white or chambray ensemble.
5. Striped top and denim
There are very few 4th of July sartorial problems that can't be solved with a little denim tied around your waist, whether that be a chambray button-up or denim jacket. Paired with some cut-offs and stripes and you've got yourself a chic understated American outfit, that's ready to help you celebrate.
